Step into a role where your expertise and leadership will make a tangible difference. The position of Lead Veterinary Surgeon offers a dynamic and fulfilling career path. Here, you’ll collaborate closely with the Clinical Director to uphold clinical excellence, nurture team growth, and drive the continued success of the practice.

Why This Role Stands Out
  • Lead with Purpose: Take charge of meaningful decisions, mentor your colleagues, and elevate the standards of veterinary care.
  • Varied Caseload: Engage with a diverse range of cases, from routine to complex, ensuring continuous professional development.
  • Collaborative Team: Join a supportive team of friendly colleagues, many with postgraduate certificates, who value mentorship and shared learning.
  • Invest in Your Future: Access leadership training, CPD support, and opportunities to pursue clinical interests and certifications.
  • Excellent Facilities: Work with state-of-the-art equipment, including dental x-ray, laparoscope, and gastroscope.
  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a four-day working week (or spread across five days if preferred) with built-in admin time, plus flexibility for important appointments, family events, and emergencies.
About the Team

This is a first opinion practice with 5 RCVS-accredited branches, along with an RCVS-accredited veterinary hospital. The dedicated team provides high standards of bespoke, affordable care to patients and clients, and is actively involved in supporting local pet charities. While on-call duties are currently covered by the vets, these will be minimal as the practice is transitioning to a new hospital with a dedicated night team in April 2026.

  • Commitment to high standards of care and client service.
  • Ability to drive clinical governance and ensure compliance with practice protocols.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • A team player who fosters a positive culture and excellent client relationships.
