Job summary

Taylor & Francis is seeking a Lead UX Researcher to drive qualitative and mixed-methods research that uncovers user motivations and unmet needs. You will embed research across multidisciplinary product teams, shaping discovery, problem framing, prototyping and evaluation, and helping turn insights into action.

You will establish research practices, share insights, and embed evidence-led design across the organisation, contributing to an expanding design function.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in UX or user research across complex digital products or services.
• Deep expertise in qualitative research methods with good judgement.
• Mix of qualitative depth and quantitative evidence in decision-making.
• Track record of research influencing product decisions, design directions or strategies.
• Strong understanding of product discovery and user-centered design.
• Practical design literacy including sketching concepts and using prototypes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product Designers and Product Managers to frame problems and define research priorities.
• Plan and conduct generative and evaluative research (interviews, contextual inquiry, usability testing, concept evaluation).
• Synthesize findings into actionable insights that influence priorities and experiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate insights into design opportunities.
• Participate in design workshops and collaborative problem-solving with an evidence-led perspective.
• Coach designers to conduct lightweight research independently and responsibly.
