Tailored Talent Ltd is seeking a skilled Utility Surveyor in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, to join a multidisciplinary surveying consultancy renowned for technical excellence and close-knit team culture.

You will locate buried utilities with GPR, lead a small on-site team, process 3D data into CAD drawings, and deliver precise survey data across UK projects.

The role demands UK travel, a relevant qualification, and a hands-on approach to health and safety.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Utility Surveyor or similar role.
• Industry-related qualification in utility surveying or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of GPR systems and Vivax or RD detection equipment.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD for drafting and drawing review is advantageous.
• Sound understanding of underground utility mapping and survey processes.
• Flexible, adaptable and fast-paced working environment.
• Full UK driving licence for travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Locate and trace buried utilities using GPR and detection equipment.
• Lead a small survey team as Utility Surveyor on live sites.
• Process 3D GPR data and prepare CAD drawings back at base.
• Deliver accurate utility survey data across diverse construction and infrastructure projects.
• Liaise directly with clients to ensure survey deliverables meet requirements.
• Maintain strict health and safety standards while working on site.
• Travel to project sites locally and across the UK as required.
