Job summary

AXA XL is seeking a Pricing Actuary in London to support the US Casualty underwriters and contribute to regional pricing strategies. You will lead pricing analyses, develop pricing methodologies, and work with cross-region teams to ensure consistency.

The role requires a qualified actuary with non-life pricing experience, strong communication, and the ability to train junior actuaries while aligning with global standards.

Qualifications

• FIA/FCAS/FIAA/FSAI with post-qualification experience.
• Pricing experience in non-life insurance or reinsurance.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new environments.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.
• Ability to translate actuarial concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Constructive communication of difficult messages.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing support to US Casualty underwriting and participate in committees.
• Manage a team of junior actuaries.
• Develop pricing methodologies aligned with global standards.
• Lead pricing tool development and maintain governance documentation.
• Collaborate with Pricing & Analytics and underwriters across regions.
• Utilise analytics/MI to drive pricing decisions and efficiency.
• Evaluate profitability and support portfolio strategy and planning.
• Coach underwriters and junior actuaries in pricing approaches.
• Contribute input to quarterly reserving and capital modelling.
