KMM Telecommunications - Lead Tower Tech - Shrewsbury, MA - Coventry, CT - Becket, MA

KMM Telecommunications is looking for a motivated and skilled Lead Tower Technician to join our team of telecommunications professionals. We value hard work and trust, and seek individuals who share these values. This position is the second in command on a 3 or 4 person tower crew. Experienced tower technicians looking to advance to lead roles will also be considered.

Note: Local/regional candidates only. We do not offer rotations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Perform installation, inspection, and maintenance of wireless radio and antenna systems on towers, rooftops, and other structures, working with the crew foreman and technicians.
2. Perform ground-based civil scopes supporting radio system cabling, grounding, interconnects, and conduits.
3. Complete work efficiently, on time, and profitably.
4. Follow safety and quality control standards at all times; ensure team adherence.
5. Identify materials, tools, and equipment needed for tasks.
6. Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
7. Assist with site-related duties and documentation.
8. Support training and skill development of less experienced technicians.
9. Maintain equipment and vehicles in good condition.
10. Interact professionally with customer representatives.
11. Contribute to company growth and branding.
12. Obtain and maintain relevant certifications (Tower Climbing, OSHA, RF Awareness, First Aid, NWSA, Rigging).

Job Requirements

1. Valid driver’s license.
2. 2-3 years of tower construction experience preferred.
3. Climbing certification (Comtrain or equivalent) preferred; training provided if needed.
4. Knowledge of diagnostic test equipment preferred.
5. Flexibility for overtime and out-of-market work.
6. Comfort working at heights on towers, rooftops, and other structures.
