The Role:

As a Lead Therapy Radiographer, you'll play a pivotal role in leading and developing the service to ensure that all operational objectives and standards are achieved, and excellent customer treatment and service are always delivered. You will be comfortable managing people and delivering process innovation, with the drive and tenacity to ensure excellence while maintaining positive relationships. What You'll Do:

Your key responsibilities:

  • Liaise closely with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Follow all duties as a health and care professions council (HCPC) registrant (standards of conduct, performance and ethics).
  • Follow all HCPC standards of proficiency.
  • Create an environment for all diagnostic and radiotherapy staff to work effectively as a team.
  • Ensure all team members are appropriately trained and skilled.
  • Ensure staff follow clinical protocols, policies, procedures, and operate in full compliance.
  • Maintain safe and effective working practices, including equipment operation.
  • Ensure patients receive the highest levels of service in line with GenesisCare standards.
  • Meet clinical audit, radiation protection, and quality assurance requirements.
  • Record compliments and thoroughly investigate incidents or complaints to prevent recurrence.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including patients, clinicians, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Support ongoing improvement and development of care and services.
  • Collaborate with other centre leaders and lead by example in clinical patient care.
  • Adhere to all HCPC standards.
  • Maintain own CPD according to professional standards.
  • Work out of hours as needed to resolve breakdowns or crises.
What You'll Have:

Experience and skills:

  • Significant post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in all aspects of radiotherapy, including QA, pre-treatment, and treatment.
  • Effective staff management and teamwork skills.
  • Empathetic, holistic patient care approach.
  • Experience in resolving complaints satisfactorily.
  • Understanding of governance.
  • Wide range of clinical skills.
  • Effective leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to make independent judgments and solve problems.
  • Flexibility to achieve business objectives.
  • Ability to train and mentor staff.

Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • DCR (DR) or BSc (Hons) in Therapy Radiography.
  • Progress towards or possession of MSc is advantageous.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Evidence of CPD.

Other Requirements:

  • Energetic, self-motivated, proactive.
  • Confident, articulate, diplomatic, tactful.
  • Flexible, willing to work unsocial hours and travel as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Able to act as an ambassador for GenesisCare.
