Job summary

Brentwood Hospital in Brentwood, part of Nuffield Health, is seeking a Senior Theatre Practitioner (ODP) to join our perioperative team. You will be HCPC registered with post‑registration experience and a focus on high standards of care.

The role involves leading theatre sessions, coordinating activities, promoting patient safety and governance, and collaborating with clinicians to deliver excellent surgical pathways. We offer a supportive environment and a range of employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be HCPC registered with post-registration experience.
• Senior Theatre Practitioner (ODP) with relevant perioperative skills.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise patient safety, taking appropriate actions and encouraging colleagues to call out and report safety concerns.
• Promote a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff (in full compliance with all policies and procedures)
• Support governance activity, ensuring full compliance with Nuffield Health’s Quality governance framework and national standards, e.g. CQC/HIW/HIS Regulation, fundamentals of care, professional standards and evidence-based guidelines.
• Provide and lead care management and delivery, treating patients, families, friends and representatives with kindness, dignity, respect and compassion and support them to cope emotionally with their care, treatment or condition.
• Collaborate with other clinicians within the Hospital, building strong working relationships that enhance patient care and service delivery.
• Take charge of a theatre, co-ordinating and delivering work activities and leading junior practitioners.
