Job summary

Owen Daniels in Birmingham is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Test Engineer to take technical ownership of all product and system testing in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

You will lead functional, electrical and environmental testing, develop test strategies, run FATs and customer witness tests, and enable production, commissioning and service activities while managing test equipment and documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience within Aerospace, Defence, Marine, Rail, Oil & Gas or ATEX-regulated environments.
• Significant manufacturing test engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading testing activities within a regulated industry.
• Strong electrical/electronic fault-finding skills.
• Experience leading FATs and customer witness testing.

• Lead functional, electrical, environmental and system testing
• Develop and continuously improve test strategies and procedures
• Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and customer witness testing
• Carry out electrical and electronic fault-finding and root cause analysis
• Support production, commissioning and customer activities
• Manage test equipment, calibration and technical documentation

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification

Ideally you will have experience with:

• LV switchgear, inverters, drives and VFDs
• 440V 3-phase power systems
• HiPOT/DWV testing up to 4kV
