Job summary

The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead the production and quality assurance of Temporary Works designs across the project, coordinating with internal and external teams.

You will ensure TW designs are safe for construction, use and dismantling, and align with the SCS JV TW procedures. The role requires ~10+ years in TW design and a Chartered engineer status.

Qualifications

• Civil or Structural Engineering degree required, preferably with higher degree.
• Chartered engineer status preferred.
• Experience leading a temporary works design team.
• Knowledge of BS5975:2024 and CDM Regulations 2015.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage TW design on the project, coordinating internal and external teams.
• Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with TW procedures.
• Coordinate with HS2, TAA, and PSC consultancies on TW design matters.
• Manage budgets, timesheets and resource allocation for TW team.
• Lead interview process for TW team members.
• Drive innovation and ensure safer, buildable temporary works designs.
