Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is hiring a Lead Technical Operator for our UK manufacturing site. The role involves leading sterile and non-sterile bulk lines, ensuring GMP compliance, and supporting quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will oversee batch documentation, SOP adherence, and equipment cleaning (CIP/SIP), while coordinating with the Production team to maintain high standards of safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment (MHRA/FDA).
• Previous supervisory or mentoring/coaching experience.
• Knowledge of Lean systems and continuous improvement (Green Belt desirable).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate bulk formulation, filling, inspection, and packing lines for sterile and non-sterile products.
• Complete batch documentation accurately and perform in-process checks.
• Perform equipment checks and cleaning activities (CIP/SIP) and report issues.
• Support project validation, new product introduction, and GMP change controls.
• Monitor team performance and downtime; ensure accurate batch records.
• Provide leadership support and cover Production Coordinator as needed.
• Ensure all processes comply with GMP and EH&S procedures.
• Participate in deviation investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
