The Role:

As a Lead Technical Artist within the Art Department, you will work alongside an enthusiastic team of developers to drive and deliver the next generation of AAA games at TT.

You will develop new tools and production pipelines, improve existing technology and workflows, and serve as a main point of contact for technical issues. A proactive, friendly, and creative communicator is essential, as you will bridge programming and art teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the main contact for tools, workflows, and engine functionality across multiple project areas.
  • Identify issues with existing tools and develop new solutions to enhance game quality.
  • Maintain runtime budgets, optimize performance while preserving visual fidelity.
  • Provide accurate time estimates, understand cross-discipline dependencies, and assess impacts on teams.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Art Director and engineering teams to design and implement tools and workflows.
  • Support team development, review training needs, and help define career growth paths.
  • Be a passionate, collaborative team member committed to inspiring others.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in MEL, Python, C#, scripting.
  • Experience with Maya, Photoshop, Unreal Engine.
  • Creating custom tools, scripts, and shaders.
  • Strong technical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and people management abilities.
  • Deep understanding of content creation pipelines (modeling, UV, texturing, lighting, shaders).

Beneficial Skills:

  • Experience in multi-platform, multi-project environments.
  • Shipped titles on current console hardware.
  • Knowledge of Houdini, Maya Bifrost.
  • Experience with Perforce, SVN, JIRA, Confluence.
  • Performance evaluation skills.
