Lead Technical Architect - Power Platform - Government Services - 6 month contract - inside IR35 - DV clearance

I am looking for a Lead Technical Architect to guide strategic technology decisions across multiple digital services within a high-profile government department.

Due to the urgency and nature of the role, candidates with current DV clearance or active SC clearance and willing to obtain DV clearance are preferred.

You'll have an opportunity to shape the design and delivery of complex systems, ensuring they're not only technically sound but aligned with wider organisational and cross-government priorities. You'll take a leadership role in defining how systems integrate, scale, and remain secure, while contributing to a culture of architectural excellence.

Your focus will include managing the direction of Power Platform strategy and supporting a Centre of Excellence that sets governance standards and providing technical assurance across a suite of key digital services. You'll work closely with colleagues across architecture, data, and security, as well as wider delivery teams, to ensure consistency and quality across products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set the technical direction for systems and services, with a focus on sustainable, secure, and scalable design
• Lead architectural decisions across a portfolio of products and teams
• Promote shared standards and drive alignment across government digital services
• Guide governance of Power Platform usage through an established Centre of Excellence
• Provide technical mentoring and leadership to other architects and delivery teams
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet both immediate and long-term needs

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in leading technical architecture across complex environments within the public sector
• Deep understanding of Microsoft Power Platform and associated governance models
• Strong grasp of architectural assurance, integration planning, and technical governance
• Comfortable influencing and advising at senior levels, both technical and non-technical
• Experience in the public sector or secure government environments is highly desirable
