Lead Technical Architect - Integration and Solution Delivery

  • Hybrid – 1-2 days per week onsite in Croydon, Bromley, Winchester, Farnborough
  • £100,000 - £110,000 per annum + Benefits and bonuse
  • Must have or be eligible for UK Security Clearance and NPPV3

About the Role:

Digital Skills are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Lead Technical Architect with a focus on system delivery assurance and integration architecture. This role is to join a client on a large program of work and will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and overseeing the delivery of solutions for large-scale mission-critical systems.

You will need to have demonstrable expert-level architecture and technical leadership experience, including deep knowledge of application and integration architectures. You will define and communicate architectures, provide client-facing strategic and technical direction, and perform strong and detailed assurance of supplier solution deliveries.

Qualifications/Experience required:

  • Experience in senior technical leadership, including defining architectures and being responsible for the technical success of large-scale mission-critical systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and supplier teams and provide technical mentorship.
  • Expert-level experience in application and integration architectures.
  • Extensive experience in systems integration and working with large IT Services organisations.
  • Proven experience in client-facing technical leadership roles.
  • Experience in secure solutions delivery.
  • Experience working with different architecture methods, tools and frameworks.
  • Experience defining technology roadmaps, technology transformation strategies and transitional architectures.
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in planning, and risk and dependency management.
  • An excellent and self-reliant communicator - creating, documenting and communicating architectural, strategic and solution delivery aspects.
  • Ability to work in a Multi-supplier environment.

Skills & experience:

  • Experience with large-scale distributed processing systems.
  • Experience in architecting and delivering biometric processing systems (fingerprint, face, DNA).
  • Experience in other architectural disciplines ie, business, data, performance, infrastructure, and security.
  • Experience in engineering cloud-based solutions.
  • Delivery of government secure solutions.
  • Experience of solution service integration.
  • Experience with test approaches for large-scale system deliveries.
  • Demonstrable architecture skills and experience to an industry benchmarked level.
  • Expertise in compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2, and ISO 27001.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to client technical teams, guiding them through complex technical challenges and architectural decisions.
  • Develop solutions that conform to organisational standards, principles, strategies, and technical/commercial constraints.
  • Understand business customer demands and requirements, ensuring alignment with system supplier deliveries.
  • Evaluate and provide technical assurance for supplier solutions.
  • Apply assurance and governance to supplier deliveries to meet desired business outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain technology roadmaps for client systems.
  • Oversee the capture of requirements and provide technical input to procurements and tenders.
  • Contribute to technical design authorities by communicating ideas and seeking consensus.
  • Perform a Systems Integration role, ensuring supplier solutions and deliveries align.
  • Ensure solution compliance with security and governance standards and frameworks.
  • Work with client and supplier quality and test organisations to ensure adequate quality in the delivery of complex solutions.
  • Ensure that architectures are compliant with industry regulations (eg, GDPR, HIPAA) and company security policies, and ensure appropriate security controls are implemented across all solutions.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks in supplier solutions and deliveries to meet stakeholder objectives.
  • Develop and maintain architectural standards, design patterns, and documentation, ensuring a shared understanding of technical solutions.
  • Capturing/documenting architectural decisions.
