Job summary

The Cambian Group is looking for a Lead Teaching Assistant to join the Bletchley Park School team in Milton Keynes. The role requires passion for working with young people with learning disabilities and/or autism, strong organisation and communication skills, and a flexible, proactive approach.

Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday 08:30–16:30, term-time only. The employer supports safeguarding and DBS checks for all shortlisted candidates, and is an Equal Opportunities Employer.

Qualifications

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Calm under pressure.
• The ability to lead and be led.
• Experience of working with young people with additional needs.
• Experience of working with young people on the autistic spectrum is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Working alongside the teacher in the planning and preparation of the work that is to be carried out in class.
• Providing learning activities for students both on and off site.
• Providing opportunities for students to progress with formal learning, life skills and social understanding and assessing progress.
• Organising the teaching assistants within class to meet the needs of each individual.
