Job summary

Cambian Group's Bletchley Park School is seeking a Lead Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role involves supporting the teacher with planning and delivering learning activities for pupils aged 7-19 with autism, learning disabilities and communication difficulties.

You should be patient, well organised, and able to work flexibly. The position is 37.5 hours per week, term time only, with safeguarding checks and equal opportunities commitments.

Job description

39 weeks per year including training days The Cambian Group is one of the largest providers of specialist behavioural health services for children in the UK and we are looking for Lead Teaching Assistants to join our team. Bletchley Park is a 38-week specialist school providing quality therapeutic care and education for young people with Autism, challenging behaviour, communication difficulties and complex needs. The children and young people that attend school range between the ages of 7 - 19 years. As a Lead Teaching Assistant, you will need to have a passion for working with young people and want to make a difference in their lives. You will be a highly motivated, well organised and resourceful individual who can demonstrate flexibility and good communication skills. You will be patient and energetic but also have a genuine concern to improve the quality of life for the young people in our care. The ideal candidate would have experience and knowledge of learning disabilities and/or special needs. Experience of working with young people on the autistic spectrum would also be preferred.

Key duties
  • Working alongside the teacher in the planning and preparation of the work that is to be carried out in class.
  • Providing learning activities for students both on and off site.
  • Providing opportunities for students to make progression with formal learning situations, self-help skills, life skills and social understanding and assessing their progress on a regular basis.
  • Organising the teaching assistants within class appropriately to ensure a bespoke timetable to meet the needs of each individual in our care is in place.
Hours

This role consists of 37.5 hours per week. The role is Monday to Friday 08:30 – 16:30, term time only.
