• Leading morning briefing sessions focused on professional development

OHA is seeking a Lead Teacher of Science to support quality of education within the department. The Lead Teacher plays a crucial role in achieving this vision by leading and developing high-quality teaching and learning both within their subject area and as a key member of the Academy’s leadership team.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities of a classroom teacher (see Teacher Job Description attached), key responsibilities will include:

• Leading outstanding teaching and learning
• Raising student achievement and engagement
• Developing staff expertise through coaching
• Leading professional development and continuous improvement in area, and school wide
• Spotlighting best practice and leading staff development

Tasks include (but are not limited to):

• Conducting learning walks and contributing to whole school quality assurance
• Providing structured coaching, feedback and professional development for colleagues
• Supporting the implementation and development of the Academy's whole-school lesson structure
• Attending dedicated SLT meetings to present analysis of data
• Leading morning briefing sessions focussed on professional development
