Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Talent Acquisition Partner to join the Freedom business (part of NG Bailey). Freedom operates at the heart of the UK’s energy transition – delivering specialist infrastructure services across the power and utilities sectors. With continued growth and major projects ahead, we’re looking for someone who can deliver smart, strategic recruitment support in a high-performance environment.

Reporting to the Head of Talent Acquisition, you’ll own recruitment delivery for the Freedom business, managing a small team and working closely with senior operational stakeholders to shape and deliver workforce plans.

This is a hybrid role based from either our Leeds or London office, with flexibility and occasional travel to other sites.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

  • Leading and implementing the Freedom Talent Acquisition strategy, aligned to growth and workforce forecasts
  • Line managing a team of 3 TA Partners – providing support, direction and coaching
  • Acting as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders across the business, guiding them through workforce planning and resourcing strategy
  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment process for critical hires, from attraction to onboarding
  • Building proactive talent pipelines for commercial, engineering and operational roles
  • Supporting diversity, equity and inclusion through inclusive recruitment practices
  • Using data and insights to inform hiring decisions and continuously improve the recruitment approach
  • Representing NG Bailey and Freedom at networking events and promoting our employer brand

What we’re looking for:

You’ll be a highly organised, people-focused Talent Acquisition expert who thrives in fast-paced environments and can juggle strategic and hands-on delivery. You’ll be confident managing recruitment for technical or field-based roles and have a natural ability to influence and build trust with stakeholders at all levels.

We’re particularly interested in people who bring experience from similar environments – engineering, power, utilities or infrastructure – where safety, compliance and workforce mobility are key considerations.

You’ll also bring:

  • Experience managing recruitment within an internal function
  • Strong data/excel reporting skills
  • A track record of successfully leading, mentoring or managing other recruiters
  • Strong stakeholder management skills – influencing, guiding and challenging where needed
  • Proactive sourcing, campaign management and direct hiring experience
  • A commitment to delivering an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience

Benefits:

We're always evolving our benefits to ensure we're attracting and retaining great people. Some of what you can expect includes:

  • Salary sacrifice car scheme (Hybrid/Electric Vehicle)
  • Pension with a leading provider and up to 8% employer contribution
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Personal Wellbeing and Volunteer Days
  • Free 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme – including counselling and legal advice
  • Flexible benefits including Dental Insurance, Gym Membership, Travel Insurance, Cycle to Work
  • Ongoing personal development and access to training

Next Steps:

As a business, we’re on a journey to build on our culture where everyone is included, treated fairly and with respect. This starts with recruitment and how we bring people into the organisation.

We’ll do our best to outline the recruitment process to you ahead of time with plenty of notice. If you require any accommodations to participate in the application or interview process, please let us know and we will work with you to ensure your needs are met.

About Us:

We are one of the leading independent engineering and services businesses in the UK. Founded in 1921, with a turnover of £500m and 3000 employees, we are proud of our history of developing great people through our investment in training.

Working across a variety of sectors within the building and infrastructure industry, our innovative, responsible and forward-thinking approach allows us to work on fantastic ground-breaking projects, providing solutions using the latest tools and technologies.
