Job summary

Copello are partnering with a leading international defence organisation to recruit an experienced Lead Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team spanning systems, software and hardware engineering. You will support verification, validation and certification of complex defence products across the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience with requirements and verification management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS).
• Strong systems engineering principles and processes.
• Experience or understanding of requirements engineering at System, Subsystem or Component level.
• Knowledge of hardware design and how hardware and software interact in complex systems.
• Experience developing or executing test procedures and gathering evidence for compliance.
• Understanding of verification, validation and product certification.
• Great written and verbal communication, with ability to present technical information.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute verification activities across the design and development lifecycle.
• Develop effective test strategies, procedures and verification scenarios.
• Collaborate with Systems, Software, Mechanical and Electrical engineers.
• Identify, record and manage defects; drive timely resolution with teams.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure delivery against schedule and cost.
• Manage requirements, verification scenarios and test evidence using DOORS/Rhapsody.
• Work hands-on in laboratory environments with software and hardware under test.
• Support product acceptance, certification and customer delivery with robust evidence.
• Respond to technical queries from customers and stakeholders.
• Review and validate technical publications to reflect product requirements.
• Contribute to documentation and technical peer reviews.
• Build strong working relationships across the wider defence organisation.
