Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks an experienced Associate Director, Systems Engineering to lead a high-performing team across complex aerospace programmes at our Winnersh facility near Reading. You will set strategy, direct MBSE adoption and drive technical excellence.

You will oversee reviews, risk management and stakeholder engagement with customers and suppliers, while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. A senior engineer with international leadership experience will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
• Significant experience in systems engineering within aerospace or defence industry.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex programmes.
• Strong knowledge of systems architecture, requirements management, integration, verification and validation.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance and meet pre-employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set systems engineering strategy, direction and priorities.
• Drive MBSE and digital engineering practices across programmes.
• Lead technical reviews, trade studies and risk management.
• Collaborate with Programme Management, Engineering, customers and suppliers to meet objectives.
• Develop engineering capability through coaching and succession planning.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace, safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
