Job description

As a Principal/Lead Systems Engineer, you will join our ECRS MkII project within the Typhoon sector.

This role involves working in a highly demanding area, addressing customer requirements for flexible, high-performance systems capable of serving as the primary sensor on advanced combat aircraft.

What you will do:
  • Liaise with engineering specialists to capture needs, design constraints, and priorities.
  • Engage with LRI stakeholders to ensure coherence and coordination of system design across physical architecture.
  • Document design rationale using MBSE techniques, capturing solution design artifacts.
  • Design and develop system interface definitions, considering data exchange and information services.
  • Influence hardware and firmware design and interactions through design and development activities.
  • Write system and subsystem-level requirements and associated test descriptions.
  • Develop designs related to RF receipt and transmission to enable radar capabilities.
  • Design pulse burst execution mechanisms.
What you'll bring:
  • Experience in designing and capturing complex hardware, firmware, and software interactions.
  • Self-motivation with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in complex, uncertain design environments.
  • Experience in writing and managing technical requirements.
  • Interest or experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML.
  • Ability to maintain traceability of requirements through design activities.
  • Understanding of RF transmission and reception control and timing challenges, especially in multi-mode pulse Doppler radars.
  • Proven RF design experience, with a preference for timing design and control expertise.
