Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a System Design lead to support definition, design and development of technical solutions for Submarine Command System. You will work under the System Design Authority to ensure designs meet safety, regulatory and programme requirements.

You will liaise across PMs, Engineering Managers and Software/Hardware leads, provide technical support, handle design queries and maintain comprehensive System Design documentation in a collaborative, office-based environment in the UK.

Qualifications

Extensive experience working with software systems and system design in complex engineering environments.
Experience leading development and enhancing a software product based on business requirements.
Exposure to regulatory and statutory requirements of Software products and understands potential liabilities.

Responsibilities

Liaise with project managers and engineering managers on technical matters relating to SMCS product designs.
Provide technical support to hardware and software managers and team members.
Respond to customer design queries and investigate defect reports under direction of the Support Manager or Project Manager.
Produce, review and maintain the System Design documentation.
