We invite you to join a dedicated and driven systems engineering team as the Lead Architect, playing a key role in delivering the Mission Planning & Control products for a highly complex and critical weapon system providing future cruise and anti-ship capabilities across the UK and multiple international partners.

The opportunity:

As the Lead Architect, you will be responsible for generating all architectural artefacts within the boundary of TP15 Mission Planning & Control, through your own work and by guiding other architects in the team. This project covers multiple product offerings, and as the Lead Architect, you will aim to maximize modularity and re-use, while heavily supporting and influencing the design process.

The Lead Architect reports to the Head of TP15 Mission Planning & Control and collaborates with other team members to deliver objectives on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

What we’re looking for from you:

• Strong background in complex systems architecture, including experience as a practitioner of MBSE in relevant environments.
• Understanding or experience of key architectural principles in a product line environment is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong desire to build effective relationships and work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to influence and lead effectively, coordinating activities across multi-skilled teams.
• Ability to autonomously lead work packages within small to medium teams.
• Ability to learn rapidly and understand complex problems.
• Proficiency with IBM Engineering Workflow Management (formerly Rational Team Concert) is essential.
