Overview

The Specialist Cancer Centre for Urology in Essex has recently received £2 million in investment to enhance and expand its services. As part of this development, we are growing our Urology Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) Team. We are now seeking a Lead Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) to join our Urology team at Southend Hospital. This is a fixed-term role, ideal for an experienced, fully trained SCP ready to take on a leadership position within a forward-thinking, high-performing environment.

As Lead Surgical Care Practitioner, you will be an integral member of the Urology team, supporting the directorate in delivering key performance targets, with a strong focus on the quality and patient experience agenda.

Responsibilities
  • Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement and professional development, ensuring that the delivery of patient care is consistently monitored, reviewed, and enhanced.
  • Lead on service development initiatives, supporting the implementation of change where needed to meet evolving patient and service demands.
  • Bring a high level of self-motivation, along with the passion, drive, adaptability, and resilience required to thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Use your excellent communication and influencing skills to engage with multidisciplinary teams, facilitate collaboration, and promote best practices.
  • Ensure that quality and patient safety are at the forefront of all clinical and service activities.
