Job Title: Lead Supply Planning Specialist

Reporting to: Supply Planning Manager

About the Role

In the Lead Supply Planning Specialist role, you will support the leadership to coordinate the activities of the team across multiple products and projects to maintain coherence in the supply plan. As a Lead Supply Planning Specialist, you will work closely with project team colleagues to manage the introduction of new products at Xtrac, along with the management of the Supply Plan for the current product portfolio. Working closely with our commercial, demand planning and operations teams you will create the supply plan to support complex business requirements and deliver world class products and service. This will require you to use an in-depth knowledge of our business capabilities and your keen problem-solving skills to manage the complex demands of motorsport and high-performance automotive product groups.

Day to Day

• Provide operational / technical systems guidance and support within the supply planning team to ensure a consistent approach to supply planning activities and the delivery of a coherent supply plan.
• Develop the team of Supply Planning Specialists and Production Planners, providing mentoring and direct coaching in order to create a high performing team and culture.
• Deputise for the Supply Planning Manager within the Xtrac New Product Introduction (NPI) process – managing the integration of new products into the capacity plan through initial manufacture to point of delivery.
• Support the ongoing supply plan for the existing product portfolio lifecycle to meet customer expectations and business objectives, including the evaluation and implementation of ongoing engineering requests.
• Create and maintain a valid assembly schedule for the delivery of Xtrac products to our global customer base.
• Support business growth by managing capacity requirements within a rolling 0–4-month horizon. Adopt a proactive approach to mitigate issues in conjunction with the demand planning and integrated business planning teams.
• Use knowledge of our operations capabilities and capacities to optimise manufacturing supply plans at a detailed level and ensure maximum productivity.
• Manage and implement schedule change arising from customer requirements or technical changes to ensure optimised delivery.
• Maintain a high standard of data integrity.

About You

• You will have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Xtrac product portfolio and product use.
• You will have a thorough and in-depth understanding of planning principles, ideally supported with a relevant professional qualification.
• You will possess a good understanding of ERP principles and be a proficient ERP user (Epicor preferred but not essential).
• Demonstrated learning capability by a minimum of A-level, HNC or equivalent education.
• Good knowledge and understanding of common manufacturing techniques and processes and how they fit with creating a robust planning function.
• Understanding of assembly and manufacturing routings.
• Practical knowledge and understanding of project management techniques and stage gate process.
• Competent user of Microsoft Office suite (Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Teams).
• You will have a positive attitude to problem solving and enjoy the analysis of complex scheduling requirements.
• You will demonstrate excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and be able to take the initiative to ensure goals are met.
• Methodical approach to ensure tasks are completed with a high degree of accuracy consistently.
• Ability to work calmly to deadlines with a flexible approach.
• You will be comfortable flexing between layers of management and an excellent communicator.
• Commercially and financially astute.
• Budgetary Responsibility: N/A
• Leading People: Mentor and lead point of contact within the Supply Planning team. Indirect line management of Supply Planning team members.
• Location: Onsite at Thatcham, UK as determined by business needs but with occasional homeworking flexibility.
