Senior/ Principal Structural Engineer Offshore Wind - Primary Steel. UK or Europe.

Do you possess a degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering coupled with expertise in offshore wind structural engineering? Our client is a fast-growing, innovative renewable energy company seeking a Lead/Senior/Principal Engineer to join their team.

Role

1. Deliver primary steel design work packages for concept, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), and detailed designs in collaboration with other disciplines at a senior level: Tech Leads, Project Managers, Design Managers.
2. Deep dive into foundations and steel design for offshore wind turbines, including detailed structural calculations, stress analysis, FEA, load modelling, and the comprehensive design of offshore foundations such as Jackets, Monopiles, TPs, and steel towers.

Essential Requirements

• Structural engineering experience within the Offshore Wind sector.
• Degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering.
• Experience in offshore wind foundation design.
• Primary Steel Structure design engineering for Offshore Wind (e.g., Jackets, Monopiles, TPs).

Desirable Experience

• Chartered status, Masters, or relevant PhD is an advantage.
• Experience with fabrication/Testing & Inspection (T&I) of Monopiles, Jackets, or TPs for OWF.
• Loads analysis, including offshore loading and dynamics of wind turbine foundations.
• Knowledge of fatigue, dynamics, wind, waves, vibrations, and non-linear analyses.
• Experience as Owner's Engineer, Package Manager, Engineering Manager, or Contract Manager.
• Certifications from agencies like DNV-GL, Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas, etc.
• Proficiency with structural design software such as RFEM, STAAD-PRO, SACS, SESAM, or similar.
• Programming skills, e.g., Python.
