Job summary

North East Lincolnshire Council is recruiting an Engineer (Permit Co-ordination) to lead the co-ordination and assessment of highway works within the North East Lincolnshire area. The role focuses on minimising disruption, maintaining relationships with utility companies and delivering compliant programmes.

You will inspect permit requests, interpret standards and work with promoters to enable essential works while regularly visiting sites across the borough.

Qualifications

• Experience of Local Authority permit schemes (or similar) and working in a small team.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
• Organisational skills and ability to work with drawings, specifications, and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead role in co-ordinating and assessing the impact of proposed highway works
• Interpret standards and develop solutions with works promoters to deliver programmes
• Attend sites across North East Lincolnshire and manage travel between sites
• Provide professional Streetworks advice to colleagues, elected Members and the public
• Draft performance reports to demonstrate demand and compliance with policies
