This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is excited about helping to modernise and transform their operations. My Client is currently migrating from NAV 2009 to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, which includes rolling out barcode technology and the latest warehouse management tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stock Control & Accuracy
    • Conduct scheduled perpetual stock takes.
    • Investigate stock discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
    • Maintain accurate records of stock movements, adjustments, and write-offs.
    • Ensure physical stock matches records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
    • Monitor stock levels and report risks such as stockouts or overstocking.
  • Collaboration & Coordination
    • Work closely with Warehouse and Purchasing teams to ensure correct stock handling and timely replenishment.
    • Support Goods-In processes by verifying delivery quantities and quality against purchase orders.
  • Loss Prevention & Compliance
    • Identify and report damaged, expired, or obsolete stock.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and HACCP (if applicable).
    • Support the development and implementation of loss-reduction initiatives.
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • Provide regular reports on stock accuracy and variance trends.
    • Analyse recurring issues and contribute to process improvements.
  • General Duties
    • Assist with interim and year-end stock audits.
    • Train and support warehouse staff on correct stock control procedures.
    • Support projects related to warehouse layout and stock management optimisation.
What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in stock control, inventory management, or warehouse operations.
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to changing priorities.

Desirable:

  • Experience in FMCG, logistics, or manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and/or handling of dangerous goods.

Important to Note:

Flexibility is key for this role. During the initial 3-4 months, you'll be required to support intensive stocktaking efforts, including occasional Saturday work, to support our system transition. Once fully implemented, our new systems will enable remote, real-time stocktaking, significantly improving the way we operate.
