Job Description Summary
Become part of a winning team and help to deliver the Green Energy transition.

The role of Static Commissioning engineering will predominantly be at client sites, where they are responsible for pre-commissioning and overseeing the installation of HVDC control systems with its interface to plant and equipment, ensuring the system is ready for energising and commissioning.

You will be part of a team that liaises with other teams at site, customers, and design engineers to ensure smooth testing and delivery of an HVDC control system as part of a project delivery team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Planning of site installation & testing activities in project planning software e.g. Primavera & Smartsheet.
  2. Daily site activity planning & delegation of activities to team members.
  3. Supervision of control system installation at site.
  4. Adhere to EHS and customer safety rules.
  5. Lead the field cable laying & termination as per approved documents.
  6. Lead the configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of complex IEC61850 IED system.
  7. Configuration of HMI, TFR, & other subsystems.
  8. Lead the cubicle standalone, inter-cubicle, and field interface tests as per approved documents.
  9. Testing of substation hardware and software interlocks.
  10. Primary and secondary analogue injection tests for CT, PT, CVT, and voltage dividers.
  11. Handover the HVDC control system to the Dynamic commissioning team.
  12. Markup of as-built documentation.
  13. Manage spares & defective equipment records.
  14. Accurate reporting and record keeping on progress and issues.
  15. Coordinate with customer and cross-functional teams to resolve site issues.
  16. Follow departmental standards and safety guidelines.
  17. Support after-sales operations.
  18. Support work in RTDS lab for projects.
  19. Knowledge of networking, system architecture, and troubleshooting.

Requirements / Qualifications

  1. Degree or equivalent in Electronics/Electrical engineering or related field.
  2. Experience working in Substation environments.
  3. Knowledge of IEC61850 protocol.
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Teamwork and project experience.
  6. Ability to work independently and in teams.
  7. Strong attention to detail.
  8. Systematic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  9. Willingness to learn and improve.
  10. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  11. Ability to work under pressure and meet schedules.
  12. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  13. Adherence to work rules, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  14. Logical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
