Job summary

A Lead Site Reliability & Observability Engineer role in Birmingham focusing on implementing Datadog across Azure and Cloudflare. You will build synthetic monitoring, automated production validation for APIs and customer journeys, and identify issues within minutes of release.

You will own the Datadog platform, design synthetic monitoring for critical workflows, integrate with Azure DevOps and GitHub pipelines, and develop monitoring-as-code using Terraform. Hybrid work is involved.

Qualifications

Extensive hands-on Datadog across Synthetic Monitoring, APM, RUM, Log Management, SLOs and alerting.
Deep Azure experience with Cloudflare integrations and operations in large-scale production environments.
Strong CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub pipelines.

Responsibilities

Own and evolve the Datadog observability platform.
Design synthetic monitoring for critical API and browser workflows.
Integrate monitoring, testing and release validation into Azure DevOps and GitHub pipelines.
Develop monitoring-as-code and testing-as-code using Terraform.
Create actionable dashboards, SLOs, SLIs, alerts and anomaly detection.
Drive reliability improvements, performance investigations and root-cause analysis.
