Job summary

Government Recruitment Service in London is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to join the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (BIST). You will lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers while providing technical leadership across the design, delivery and continuous improvement of reliable, scalable and secure services.

You’ll work with modern cloud technologies and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve how we build and operate services, from observability

Qualifications

Experience leading a Site Reliability Engineering team.
Proven ability to design and operate scalable cloud services.
Strong observability, monitoring and incident management skills.
Collaborative cross-functional stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of Site Reliability Engineers.
Provide technical leadership across SRE and DevOps.
Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure with IaC.
Lead adoption of observability with monitoring and metrics.
Define and use SLIs, SLOs and budgets.
Improve CI/CD and automation for safe changes.
Oversee live-service reliability and incident management.
Collaborate with product, delivery and architecture teams.
Coach engineers and promote secure, resilient practices.
