Job summary

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Band 7 Specialist School Nurse for Vulnerable Children and Young People to join the 5-19 School Health Service in Lewisham.

The role focuses on safeguarding, holistic health assessments and targeted interventions for vulnerable CYP outside mainstream education, including PRUs and NEET groups. You will lead safeguarding efforts and work with families and multi-agency partners to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities.

Qualifications

• Significant and relevant experience as a specialist practitioner in school nursing.
• Experience working with adolescents and young people across settings.
• Ability to collaborate with education, social care and CAMHS and other agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist safeguarding interventions and lead on safeguarding processes.
• Manage complex caseloads of vulnerable CYP in and out of mainstream education.
• Undertake holistic health assessments and develop individualised care plans.
• Deliver health promotion and early intervention addressing emotional wellbeing and sexual health.
• Support and supervise junior practitioners within the School Health Service.
• Develop partnerships with Education, Social Care and Youth Justice Services.
