JOB TITLE: Lead Solution Architect

SALARY: £90,440 - £106,400

LOCATION(S): Halifax

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in the above office location

About this opportunity

As a Solution Architect, you'll build complex architectures aligned with our technology strategy! You'll play a substantive role in enabling teams to deliver at pace by shaping the solution architecture forward look for a lab or platform, and partner with Product Owners engineering teams and Enterprise architects!

Key duties consist of:

  • Develop and deliver budget plans for own area with guidance from senior colleagues.

  • Identify shortcomings, suggests improvements and implements approved revisions to current compliance processes, systems and procedures within assigned unit and/or field.

  • Meet the needs of significant customers related to complex, often customised products and services and/or manages a customer advisor department over a significant area.

  • Takes responsibility for implementing a team's formal development framework with guidance from senior colleagues, while informally coaching others throughout the organisation in area of expertise and pursuing and investing in opportunities for own personal development.

  • Develops and implements innovative business practices within own field, coordinating all aspects of the organization's transformation program.

  • Takes responsibility for developing and delivering a key element of the organisation's knowledge management system.

  • Builds complex frameworks to fully assess the scope and context of short-term and long-term business needs.

  • Manage the definition, development, and/or delivery of a significant product or service of the organisation's development/engineering programme and offers to ensure alignment with customer requirements, and/or manages a medium-size product development/specialist team.

  • Develop new methods, tools and programmes for quality assurance while leading developmental initiatives and/or programmes within an area of expertise.

  • Provide improvements on short-term or long-term business performance by recommending authoritative technical and/or professional solutions.

  • Monitor and manages a wide range of activities ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements by liaising with all internal risk management functions while supporting the development and implementation of the organisation's compliance policy.

  • Coordinate the development and/or delivery of a component of the organization's long-term vision.

  • Develop tactical plans for optimisation of resources and assets being managed within a given area or department.

What you’ll need

  • Story-telling skills to describe our Data Architecture and get agreement to achieve it.

  • Experience architecting modern ecosystems to support the transformation of legacy applications

  • Energise our product and engineering communities with positive relationship and collaboration skills.

  • Practical experience needed for defining the data patterns, standards, and practices guiding our organization.

  • Knowledge to be able to talk to and understand our customers, reaching solutions that meet their needs.

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • Practical experience of designing and building cloud-based data platforms at scale . Understanding the benefits and trade-offs of the various approaches to building data platforms is required.

  • Understanding of data engineering landscape and with this, a working knowledge of data pipelines and data mesh principles.

  • Working in Financial Services on Regulatory Risk deliveries.
