Job summary

MDE Consultants Ltd seeks an experienced Lead Solar PV Installer to join our UK contractor team delivering large commercial rooftop Solar PV installations. The role requires hands-on installation, DC cabling, containment, and system testing across nationwide projects.

You will read drawings, set out PV systems, work with various roof types, and maintain high safety and installation quality standards. A permanent, field-based role with travel awaits.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial rooftop Solar PV installation experience.
• Strong understanding of DC cabling, containment & electrical connections.
• Knowledge of roof types & PV mounting systems.
• Ability to read drawings & work independently.

Salary: Up to £50,000

Travel: Nationwide projects, staying away 3 to 5 days per week

What You’ll Be Doing

• Installing electrical systems on commercial rooftop Solar PV projects.
• DC cable stringing, installation & testing.
• Installing cable containment, trays, trunking & inverter frameworks.
• Electrical connections & basic system commissioning.
• Reading technical drawings & setting out PV systems.
• Working with different roof types & mounting systems.
• Ensuring high standards of health, safety & installation quality.
