As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Derivatives Execution Technologies, you will drive the successful delivery of complex technology projects that help achieve business goals across the firm. Your deep knowledge of technical principles, practices, and theories is essential for developing innovative solutions, while effectively managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams. Your strong analytical reasoning and adaptability skills will enable you to navigate ambiguity and change, ensuring that technology initiatives align with business goals. With advanced communication and stakeholder management abilities, you will foster productive relationships and influence decision-making to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. You will run projects as a product owner across multiple teams, while also being hands-on in configuration, testing, and deployment.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Own and deliver projects with direct impact to front-office stakeholders, such as new exchange connectivity, new trading feature implementation, or low latency trading solutions.
  2. Partner closely with development teams to set up solutions in test environments and ensure delivery meets requirements.
  3. Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, incorporating technical requirements, resource allocation, and timelines for on-time delivery.
  4. Identify and mitigate risks, proactively addressing potential roadblocks and implementing contingency plans.
  5. Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  6. Utilize analytical reasoning to assess program performance, identify improvements, and implement data-driven optimizations.
  7. Champion agile methodologies and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Formal training or certification in software development concepts, with advanced experience or equivalent expertise in hands-on roles like production management, software development, or system testing.
  • Experience in Markets Execution technology.
  • Experience with system and software configuration.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Technical fluency, including knowledge of vendor products and managing vendor relations.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Experience managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams in an agile environment.
  • Proficiency in analytical reasoning and problem-solving to break down objectives into manageable tasks.
Additional Qualifications
  • Understanding of Order and Execution lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Futures and Options products.
  • Familiarity with FIX protocol.
  • Ability to navigate autonomously in a Linux environment.
  • Understanding of networking principles.
