Job Description

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Data & Analytics business, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will be responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technical issues, thinking beyond routine approaches to build solutions or analyze problems
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code, review and debug code written by others
  • Identify opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues to improve operational stability
  • Lead evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials for integration
  • Lead communities of practice to promote awareness and adoption of new technologies
  • Develop UAT test automation frameworks, especially for Front-End automation, and serve as a POC for new tools
  • Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and practical experience
  • Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience in automated API and UI testing using tools like RestAssured, Selenium, or similar
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Selenium, and Cucumber
  • Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter and BlazeMeter
  • Knowledge of automation and continuous delivery practices
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and agile methodologies like CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
  • Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS, and technical disciplines such as AI, machine learning, or mobile development
  • Proficiency with tools like Gradle, Maven, Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, JMeter/Load Runner

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Ability to independently design, develop, test, and deliver test automation solutions supporting UAT
  • Experience with REST and SOAP web services and API automation
  • Knowledge of databases like Snowflake, Iceberg, Trino, Postgres
  • Strong collaboration skills and results-oriented mindset
