As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Enterprise Production Automation Services, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or analyze technical problems.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring issues to improve operational stability of software applications and systems.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems.
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies.
• Foster a team culture of diversity, equity, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Proven experience with market-leading automation and orchestration software, including Cutover Run book orchestrator and Ansible.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Strong skills in automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within disciplines like cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile.
• Deep knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.
• Practical experience with cloud technologies.
