We support a forward-thinking SaaS organisation revolutionising clinical trials and drug development. Their AI-powered tools set new standards in data quality and risk management. Due to growth, they seek a Lead Software Engineer to join their team and lead key technical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Join as a senior engineer to familiarize with the tech stack and workflows, then transition to Lead Engineer, owning squad leadership.
2. Manage a team of about 8 engineers across disciplines, collaborating with the product owner.
3. Prioritise and track project progress for timely, quality delivery.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
5. Conduct code reviews and provide feedback.
6. Set strategic directions for architecture and design.
7. Address system challenges and enhance performance.
8. Mentor team members in technical skills and career growth.
9. Collaborate with product and design teams to develop solutions.
10. Improve testing frameworks with unit and integration tests.
11. Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices.

Candidate Profile

• 6+ years in object-oriented programming, especially Python.
• At least 2 years leading teams as a Lead Engineer or similar.
• Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and web frameworks (e.g., Pyramid).
• Strong problem-solving and results-oriented approach.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and RESTful APIs.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Bonus Skills
