DXC Technology in Farnborough is seeking an experienced Software Developer (Leadership) to join our Software Engineering team onsite. You will lead, mentor, and support a team of engineers, guiding technical directions and codes reviews while contributing to our software strategy.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage priorities, and drive delivery of software projects with quality and efficiency in a hands-on leadership role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 6+ years in software engineering and development.
• Minimum 2+ years in leadership or mentoring role.
• Proficiency in C/C++ in production environments.
• Strong Linux expertise (system admin or dev).
• Proficiency in Python on real projects.
• Strong programming and debugging across languages.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, CI/CD.
• Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management.
• Willingness to learn and grow in leadership.

Responsibilities

• Support a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and hands-on support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and ensure on-time delivery within scope.
• Mentor team members through regular feedback, coaching, and career development planning.
• Contribute to the software engineering strategy and technology assessments.
• Manage project tasks, prioritization, and planning to meet goals and deadlines.
• Monitor timelines, resource allocation, and budgets for efficient execution.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues as they arise.
• Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and learning within the team.
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions to maintain quality.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
