Job summary

Asda is seeking multiple Lead Software Engineers for its Online & Customer department in Leeds. The role blends hands-on delivery with strategic leadership to deliver scalable, secure products. You will drive engineering standards and partner with Product and Architects to translate requirements into robust solutions.

The position offers hybrid working with a minimum of three days per week in Asda House, Leeds, and welcomes flexible or part-time arrangements where possible.

Qualifications

• Experience building scalable solutions following architecture and design principles.
• Strong knowledge of code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders, technical and non-technical.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and engineering oversight within your team for high-quality, scalable products.
• Lead by example through hands-on coding, reviews, testing and production support.
• Mentor engineers and balance hands-on work with leadership responsibilities.
