As a Lead Software Engineer, you will help build, support, and improve the software used across the organisation. This includes:

• In-house developed systems
• Integrations with third-party and internal systems
• Legacy systems
• Development tools and infrastructure

You will lead by example, guide engineers, and support the team manager with planning, reporting, and team coordination.

Applications will be shortlisted on receipt, and the 1st stage interviews will be held on 27th August via Microsoft Teams. The closing date of this role may close early depending on volume of applications.

If successful at the 1st stage interview, you will be invited to the Head Office in Reading to complete a technical assessment in September.

Your main duties will include:

• Helping manage the team when needed and taking on delegated responsibilities
• Designing and building new features based on user stories
• Ensuring consistent use of UI/UX and accessibility standards
• Maintaining and improving pipelines, builds, and deployment processes
• Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Software Engineer

About you

The successful applicant will have:

• Expert knowledge and experience of PowerShell
• Previous senior software engineer experience
• Good knowledge and broad experience building/maintaining applications using the Serenity Application Framework
• Good knowledge of Bootstrap
• Good knowledge and experience of TSQL programming
