Job Description:

Job responsibilities:

1. Develop and deliver product features as part of larger domain-owned epic initiatives.
2. Mentor and support other engineers as a senior member of the team.
3. Identify, troubleshoot and resolve existing or newly-identified prioritised defects.
4. Ensure high-quality code through solid testing and adherence to best practices/standards.
5. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to team discussions/meetings/guilds.
6. Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share ideas/knowledge among your peers.
7. Create and maintain technical documentation as part of new features or spike discoveries.
8. Build an understanding of product and technology for owned domain areas.
9. Actively participate in scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives.
10. Consider Accessibility (WCAG), Security, Observability & Performance as part of all owned applications/deliverables.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

1. Formal training or certification on web application/SPA development concepts and proficient advanced experience.
2. Proven track record of building and maintaining customer-centric web applications/SPAs.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as problem solving and analytical skills.
4. Strong proficiency in React and its core principles.
5. Experience with version control tools (VCS), preferably Git.
6. Experience with Docker.
7. Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest or RTL.
8. Understanding of build tools such as Webpack, Vite, Parcel.
9. Understanding of Pre-processors such as SASS, CSS Modules, JS Compilation and CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins and Github Actions.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
2. A passion for self-development and learning who keeps up to date with the latest Web/React trends and technologies.
3. Experience with Kubernetes and delivery experience on Cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
4. Experience with GraphQL and associated APIs.
5. Experience with Feature flagging/AB testing and commercial experience in the Finance Industry.
6. Experience with Design systems (UI Development, White-labelling).
