One of the world's pre-eminent investment management firms is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer/Developer to lead a new trading desk buildout. The ideal candidate will have technical leadership experience in a high-performing, front-office trading environment. You will work closely with trading, quantitative research, and data teams to design and develop backend systems and models for a cutting-edge data analytics infrastructure focused on European Power and Natural Gas markets.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with trading, research, and data teams to develop core analytics and technological initiatives.
• Translate business challenges into technical and quantitative solutions.
• Manage and integrate large datasets from various sources to build analytics and trading tools.
• Design scalable, maintainable solutions to improve models and system performance.
• Serve as a key technical stakeholder to enhance the firm's trading platform and maintain competitive advantage.

Requirements

• Strong academic background with a record of achievement; BS Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field.
• Proficiency in Python; experience with multiple programming languages is a plus.
• At least 7 years of front-office trading experience with complex systems architecture, Unix expertise, and familiarity with various database technologies.
• Experience with commodity trading markets is advantageous.
• Motivated to work in a collaborative, hands-on environment with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
