DevOps Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure

As a DevOps Engineer in the Cloud Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing the core of Nutmeg's technical infrastructure. Operating within the Platform function alongside Security, Architecture, and Developer Experience teams, you'll be involved with designing, building, and operating a platform running in Kubernetes on AWS.

Job Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a Kubernetes on AWS platform used by 150+ engineers.
• Promote best practices and principles across the engineering teams.
• Standardize deployment and cloud resource usage to facilitate technology adoption and security compliance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including security teams, to understand platform requirements.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience in relevant roles.
• Proven experience in building and managing automation, deployment, and delivery environments.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP, understanding their failure modes, and network fundamentals.
• Expertise in managing Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
• Strong coding skills in Go and Python.
• Excellent knowledge of observability tools and best practices.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams to deliver solutions.

Additional Skills

• Experience with systems and databases, understanding challenges in designing distributed/microservice environments.
• Knowledge of scalable technologies such as Kafka.
• A passion for learning and experimenting with new technologies.
