Job Description Summary

We are seeking a Lead Android Software Engineer/Developer to join our team in Bristol. This role offers a salary of £70,900 to £86,600 per annum, plus benefits. The position involves hybrid working: two days in the office and three days from home.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and improve Messaging Android entry points and integrate Mobile SDKs with third parties.
• Contribute to Android chapter and address complex problems with innovative solutions.
• Mentor and develop junior team members including data scientists, graduates, and apprentices.

About You

• Strong experience with Android frameworks, multi-module architecture, dependency injection (Dagger/Hilt), and asynchronous programming (Coroutines).
• Proven track record in performance tuning, memory management, and debugging at scale.
• Experience integrating external SDKs in Android.
• Solid understanding of architecture patterns (MVVM/MVI, Clean Architecture) and modularization strategies.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams and with third-party providers.
• Proficient in Android design principles, interface guidelines, and version control tools like Git.
• Experience with unit and UI testing frameworks such as JUnit.
