Job Description

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within IP Platforms, you will be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, applying deep technical ability and problem-solving methodologies to a diverse array of opportunities spanning multiple technologies and applications.

Job Responsibilities

• Work alongside existing product teams leveraging AI technologies to enhance customer experience, drive efficiencies, and build innovative automation across the entire database product line.
• Provide engineering leadership to educate teams on effective AI usage, growing our ability to leverage AI technology organization-wide.
• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and implement creative software solutions, thinking beyond routine approaches to solve technical problems.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code, review, and debug code written by others.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability within existing systems.
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies.
• Contribute to fostering a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 5+ years of applied experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Advanced knowledge of software applications, data, cloud, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
• Hands-on experience with Python programming.
• Fundamental understanding of AI, ML, and LLM concepts, terminology, and technology, preferably with practical experience.
• Understanding of databases and database technologies.
• Ability to independently tackle design and functionality problems; self-starter thriving in fast-paced, agile environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of seamless collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
