Searchability is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Newark-on-Trent. You will lead a small team, own full stack delivery across web, mobile, and backend systems, and influence architectural decisions. The role blends hands-on coding with leadership, across modern .NET apps, Blazor front ends, REST APIs, AWS, and MySQL.

The position offers hybrid working with on-site presence four days a week and one day remote, and a competitive £50–60k salary depending on experience.

Qualifications

Strong commercial experience with C# / .NET.
Modern .NET 8/10 development experience.
Blazor / Razor Components experience.
ASP.NET Core REST API development.
Entity Framework Core proficiency.
AWS infrastructure experience.
MySQL knowledge.
CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps & Git.
Full stack software engineering experience.
Experience mentoring or leading developers.
Strong understanding of scalable architecture and clean code principles.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll play a key part in shaping products, mentoring developers, and influencing the technical direction of the business.

THE LEAD SOFTWARE ENGINEER ROLE:

You’ll take ownership of full stack software delivery across web, mobile, and backend systems, working closely with a team of 3 developers while remaining hands-on technically.

This role combines software engineering leadership with architecture, mentoring, sprint planning, and stakeholder collaboration. You’ll help shape how the team builds software whilst ensuring delivery remains scalable, maintainable, and commercially focused.

You’ll work across modern .NET applications, Blazor front ends, REST APIs, AWS infrastructure, and .NET MAUI mobile applications — contributing from concept through to deployment.
