Job summary

Burns Sheehan is hiring a Lead Software Engineer for a UK-based SaaS scale-up. The role is remote-first with monthly/quarterly visits to the Manchester office, focusing on hands-on development and technical leadership.

Lead Software Engineer | Build products from the ground up in a scaling SaaS business

Remote with monthly or quarterly visits to their office in Manchester

I'm working with one of the UK's most exciting SaaS scale-ups, who are transforming the B2B marketing space through technology. Following continued growth, they're looking for a Lead Software Engineer to play a key role in building the next generation of customer-facing products.

This isn't a role where you'll spend your time in meetings or people management.

Instead, you'll remain deeply technical, owning solutions from initial concept through to production, influencing architectural decisions and helping shape engineering best practice alongside an experienced, collaborative team.

What you'll be doing

You’ll likely be a Senior, Principal or Lead Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and wants to combine hands‑on development with technical leadership.

Experience with TypeScript and Node.js is key, alongside either Vue.js or React (they’re happy for React engineers to learn Vue).

Most importantly, they’re looking for someone who enjoys building products, influencing technical direction and delivering software that makes a real impact.
