This is an excellent opportunity to form the next generation of senior leadership within the organisation.

Based in Manchester City Centre with 2 days a week in office and flexible working hours , this Lead role is paying between £65k and £75k + a 10% bonus.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, and working with other Lead Developers, you will provide technical leadership on complex workstreams running in parallel with other teams. These workstreams are focussed on back-end development of trading tools used by internal stakeholders.

The organisations goal is to modernise ways of working by introducing the likes of trunk development, improving developer experience, reducing cycle time for deployment and refining modern paired programming approaches.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading the design and implementation of solutions
• Being the go-to person for a development team of 10
• Leading refinement sessions and improving ways of working
• Document software design, code, and test procedures, and ensure that all documentation is complete and accurate.
• Participate in the estimation of software development projects and lead the planning and scheduling of projects.
• Driving collaboration across teams where there is cross-over or overlap on projects, technology or impact.
• Support and maintain the teams AWS development and test environments which are spun-up and torn-down regularly.
• Hands-on coding

Requirements:

• Previous experience leading a team and implementing continuous improvements
• Extensive experience with C#, .Net, SQL Server and MongoDB (or other NoSQL databases)
• Experience working with message brokers i.e. RabbitMQ, ServiceBus or Kafka
• Good understanding of pipelines such as Jenkins
• Good understanding of database operations and clustering
• Understanding of either AWS, Azure or other cloud environments
• Experience with large scale systems
