We are seeking a lead Engineer to help our mission and lead a squad. You\'ll be working in a cross-discipline team with a modern tech stack and a platform powering multiple brands and implementing everything you know and everything you\'ll learn to change our operational experience and improve customer care across the whole £1tn industry.

What you\'ll be doing
  • Hands-on development and lead the development within a squad / team
  • Collaborate closely with product and data members within your team to influence the direction and success of the initiatives, ensuring technical solutions align with product objectives and contribute to the overall business impact
  • Ensure we continue as product and outcome led teams / squads
  • Accountable and responsible for all technical decisions and architectural choices within the squad
  • Will have line management responsibility for a few developers (1-3)
  • Leads teams and maintains standards within and across teams.
  • Owns multiple domains (logical areas) across the business and ensures alignment with company goals.
  • Works with security and compliance to take accountability for their specific domains.
  • Proactively identifies dependencies and patterns across the organisation and drives standardisation. Drives practices like ADRs and automated testing
  • Provides guidance and support to members across various teams.
  • Identifies product and tooling opportunities that drive revenue and overall business impact.
What we\'re looking for

  • You\'re passionate about accessibility, operational metrics, UX, and A/B testing.
  • You\'re pragmatic and deliver effective solutions to business problems based on measurable outcomes.
  • You have a strong understanding of web apps and related tech stacks.
  • We use React, Node.js, AWS Lambdas, ECS, Serverless, and Typescript. Familiarity with these is helpful, but not required.
  • You manage your own CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
  • AWS/DevOps knowledge is a plus (Lambdas, API gateways, SQS, ECS, Terraform).
  • CLI skills aren\'t mandatory, but knowing your way around the command line will make things easier with our internal tools
