We have an exciting new vacancy for a Software Development Engineer in test (SDET) to join our tech team here at easyJet Holidays! This is a permanent vacancy in Luton. (Hybrid Working)


The role will sit within our Technology team working with Quality Engineers and SDETs to ensure we deliver changes to the web and internal systems. You’ll work closely with the QE Leadership Team to help shape and implement the modernised Test strategy for Holidays including introducing Quality Engineering Principles.


You will also play a key role in driving change and continuous improvement in automated testing approaches, practices, and techniques to help design and deliver the overall agile testing methodology used by the teams.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate with the QE Leadership Team to help shape and implement the modernised Test strategy for easyJet Holidays
  • Lead working groups to discuss issues and implement solutions.
  • Inspire, mentor and coach to bring out the very best in the whole team to improve quality
  • Be comfortable having technical conversations with the wider technology teams.
  • To work with our community of Automation Testers to support them on best practices.
  • Stay up to speed on tools, process, practice, and technology developments to ensure they are brought in-house and enhance the solutions applied to the testing problems

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Demonstrate the holistic approach of testing with automation-first mindset.
  • Experience of working on transforming a testing practice, ideally in a “shift-left” manner and how to build a culture of collaboration within the wider technology teams
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence decisions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must “live and breathe” Quality and Testing, being able to articulate and demonstrate the value of good quality
  • Must have demonstrate experience in design and development of API automation frameworks, such as Restsharp, Specflow or equivalent
  • Should be able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of C# and the .NET Framework
  • Familiar with patterns, practices, and frameworks of Test Automation Architecture
  • Should have experience of using Git/Github for SCM
  • Be confident working with CI/CD pipelines for test automation execution and fast feedback
  • Should have experience in using mocking/stubs to enable testing earlier in the lifecycle
  • Should have strong ability to coach/mentor testing and non-testing colleagues to improve test practices
  • Exposure to teams with engineering practices including DevOps, high levels of automation and infrastructure as code
